Grant Saggers specialises in economics, strategy and consumer choice. He uses economics to break complex problems down to their fundamentals, to shape evidence, to inform strategy, and to explain the solutions to senior executives, regulators and courts. He was recognised in GCR’s 2015 list of leading competition economists globally and to win “Strategy Consultant of the Year” in the 2015 UK industry awards.
As a competition economist, I’ve led companies successfully through multi-year market investigations by the Competition and Markets Authority, complex State aid restructurings in front of the European Commission, and multi-national merger notifications. I’ve presented expert economic evidence in regulatory hearings. And I’ve advised the boards of regulators in healthcare and telecommunications, including drafting a regulator’s public guidelines on competition economics applied to mergers. I have also published academic papers on competition economics issues.
I was delighted recognised in the 2015 Global Competition Review list (“the Who’s Who”) as a leading competition economist globally. This is based on independent research conducted by GCR on previous clients and cases.
Economics is the engine of good strategy – and I apply economic techniques to help companies choose when and how to compete.
This work led to winning “Strategy Consultant of the Year” at the UK’s Management Consultancies Association 2015 Awards. My nomination was sponsored by previous clients who kindly noted in their nomination feedback: “Grant has demonstrated a complete and outstanding set of advisory and consulting skills… a trusted advisor. His advice is continuously impressive and right on the mark; he brings a balanced perspective and an analytical mind-set; a total dedication, passion and leadership to get the right result; and outstanding written and verbal communication”.
