Almar Latour is executive editor for The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones. He oversees The Wall Street Journal Online, Dow Jones Newswires, and MarketWatch, and is responsible for global editorial strategy. He led the creation of a single, 1800-strong global newsroom, merging the news operations of The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires and focusing the merged organization on real-time, digital journalism. He recently initiated the creation of several specialized digital verticals and currently oversees a digital transformation initiative at the Journal.
He started with the Wall Street Journal in 1995 as an intern in Brussels and became a managing editor in 2007 for the Wall Street Journal Online. He graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Political Science in Indiana University of Pennsylvania and had his master’s degree from American University of Washington, DC. Almar is a Netherlands native.
