Michael Mandel

Michael Mandel is chief economic strategist at the Progressive Policy Institute, a catalyst for policy innovation and political reform based in Washington, D.C. Our mission is to create radically pragmatic ideas for moving America beyond ideological and partisan deadlock. Mandel directs PPI’s Center for Emerging Employment, which identifies policy solutions for encouraging the growth of new occupations. He is senior fellow at the Mack Institute for Innovation Management at Wharton, and former chief economist at BusinessWeek. Mandel is the author of four books, including Rational Exuberance: Silencing the Enemies of Growth and Why the Future is Better than You Think.
